  • what a mother does for you out of obligation vs what a mother does for you because she wants to. the taste of a cup of coffee made from obligation vs. the taste of a cup of coffee made. did you raise me because you wanted to or did you raise me because you had to, because i was in your home and you thought, i have to put food in every mouth under this roof. did you look at me with love or did you look at me. did you ever look at me? did you ever see me? did you want to? do you want to still? if i asked you to love me would you laugh? would you ask me why? would you tell me to not ask such stupid questions? would you go to bed and wonder to yourself, why does she think i don't love her? i've done everything for her i've bathed her i've clothed her i've fed her i kept a roof over her head. isn't that love? do you even know? do you know what love looks like? did your mother love you? did she make you coffee? can you tell me what it tasted like?

How to set a boundary: turning down an invite

    1. be gracious. “That sounds like an amazing time”, “I really appreciate you inviting me”, “I heard that new bar is really nice”

    2. decline. “but I won’t be able to make it.” do not offer an excuse or reason. you can say NO without cause.

    3. work through discomfort. not offering an excuse will feel very scary and awkward but gets easier with practice. You have a right to NO.

  • why do people get so offended when someone says shit like “i hit pro shippers with my car”? like obviously theyre not really hitting anyone with their car, so why are you mad if its just pretend? do you think their words have impact even if theyre not actually literally hitting you with a car? even if theyre only pretending to? even if its fictional it can hurt and effect real people? so you agree, fiction effects reality?

  • this blew up quicker than i thought and pretty much every “anti anti” type person in the notes is jumping to their usual wild conclusion victim complex of “OH SO HARASSMENT IS OK? YOURE DEFENDING HARASSMENT!!!!” even though the post itself is sarcastic and using the statement as an example of how hypothetical words can affect real life people, not a justification of it. but its also very obviously a general statement, not an example of a targeted harassment campaign against one person or people.

its a hyperbolic joke that gets repeated a lot, and its not one that i myself echo, but its certainly not an example of harassment and more along the lines of, well, just a bad faith joke. and we all agree that those are still bad right? we all agree that say, homophobic or sexist jokes or whatever, are bad because they are words that impact the real world and the people who live in it? (and this is not on the same level at all because those are actual oppressed groups). but we agree that making fun of people is bad because it hurts their feelings and we cant hide behind the idea that its just a joke, right? because our words impacted them in the real world, right?

so if “its just fiction” is an excuse, how come “its just a joke” isnt an excuse? how come when someone makes jokes like that, you dont think its okay? but somehow when its “just a drawing” or “just a fanfic” its alright? how come the ideals represented in your words and actions, however hypothetical they may be, suddenly lose meaning only when its convenient to you?

  • white people will really be like “waa he is my little baby he is just a baby boy he is sooo innocent and doesn’t know any evil because he is a baby and he is my wife he is just a baby, baby baby boy” about asian men and then get more pissed off that an asian person talks about how that plays into the infantilization of asian men. white people think they have a right to call grown asian men babies and then act like we asian people don’t understand terms of endearments lmao like. no, you look stupid as hell and go fucking learn some praxis, idiot. also you can tell these white people have NEVER been attracted to asian people before and thus that’s why they act so over the top about it like lmaoooo. sorry you infantilizing this cdrama actorman doesn’t mean you’re anti-racist you piece of shit.
